For me, it all started with MTV. In the 90s, we began watching music videos from the US and became interested in different styles of music and fashion. Hip hop in particular caught my attention because it was different from what we were used to. It was like something groundbreaking.
I remember that my classmate bought a tape, ‘Rap in Madrid’. Then we realised that there were more people in our country doing things related to hip hop. My classmate made his first graffiti sketches, copying the graffiti by Mast that appears on the cover. From then on, our interest grew more and more.
In 1993, we painted our first graffiti under a bridge where the underground passed. We painted a piece together. His tag was KIS and mine was JUN.
